EX240 E Arch Expander
Appliance Purpose / Function:
The E Arch expander is used to widen the lower arch using a trombone mechanical arrangement in the anterior pre activated with a coil spring.
Appliance Components:
- Bands on the 1st permanent molars
- arch formed of .036 wire and .040 tubing
Suggested Materials:
- .036 Chromium Cobalt wire
- .040 Chromium Cobalt tube
- Silver Solder (Cadmium Free)
Options:
- Laser welding (no solder)
Appliance Fabrication Standards:
- .036 steel wire from right molar band to the mesial of the right cuspid bent straight across toward the opposite cuspid
- .040 steel tube from the left molar band to the mesial of the left cuspid, bent straight across toward the right cuspid
- Cut the .040 tube at the mid point of the right lateral
- Insert the wire into the tube
- Wire should rest on the soft tissue
- Approximately 4mm of wire and tube should lay on the band for soldering or welding
